For People With Type 1 Diabetes
According to JDRF, approximately 1.6 million Americans live with T1D, including 200,000 young people under the age of 20 and 1.4 million adults. T1D is a 24/7 disease that requires round-the-clock attention involving insulin intake, eating, exercise, and monitoring blood glucose.
The Mary & Lee Iacocca Program in Type 1 Diabetes at Hoag Hospital is here to help.
In addition to offering world-class endocrinology care to assist in the management of T1D, the Iacocca Program in Type 1 Diabetes at Hoag’s Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center offers one of the largest diabetes education programs in Southern California. The program’s team comprises diabetes educators, nurses, dietitians, a pharmacist, and a national board-certified health and wellness coach. Several of our team members live with T1D themselves, and therefore have first-hand experience with this condition.
