Diabetes Care During Pregnancy

The Ueberroth Program for Women with Diabetes at the Allen Diabetes Center dramatically enhances the continuity of care available to women in the community. This program helps ensure that all women, regardless of their financial circumstances, have access to world-class diabetes care throughout their lives including before, during and after pregnancy.

In order to ensure a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby, it is essential to carefully manage diabetes during pregnancy. Some women, who have never had diabetes before, develop diabetes during pregnancy, a condition called gestational diabetes mellitus, or GDM.
