Esophageal Manometry (EM)

Overview

Esophageal Manometry is used to measure the function of the lower esophageal sphincter and the muscles of the esophagus, informing your doctor whether your esophagus is able to move food to your stomach normally.

The manometry test is commonly given to people with difficulty swallowing, pain associated with swallowing, heartburn or chest pain.
